So, I was just looking up some random stuff earlier (most likely stalking some musician, who shall remain unnamed), and I found a really sweet firefox trick. It works on the Macs for sure, but I’d like to hear if any of you PCers have the same luck.
Anyway, what happens is this. If you type something into the browser bar by accident instead of the search bar (and press enter), then firefox automatically looks it up in wikipedia and pulls the relevant search up. It’s like instant access to wikipedia 24/7 without actually having to go to the site to begin with. Yay!
Random, I know. But I thought it was pretty exciting.
*****UPDATE: So apparently, this does not work all the time. It only seems to be working when I type in famous people’s names like Benjamin Franklin, Muhatma Ghandi, etc. I guess with this finding it loses a little excitement, but it’s still pretty cool nonetheless.
