So, there’s this new Todd Haynes film entitled I’m Not There. It’s a biographical film reflecting the life and times of Bob Dylan. The iconic singer-songwriter is depicted through seven distinct stages of his life by six different actors:

Christian Bale is Bob Dylan.

Heath Ledger is Bob Dylan.

Ben Whishaw is Bob Dylan.

Marcus Carl Franklin is Bob Dylan.

Richard Gere is Bob Dylan.

Cate Blanchett is Bob Dylan.

This film does not look like your typical movie. It’s much more of a fantastical, poetic view of the life of Bob Dylan. You can watch the trailer at the I’m Not There official website. I haven’t seen it (the movie, that is), but I am most definitely going to watch it as soon as possible because it looks absolutely brilliant. I mean, seriously, Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan?!? AWESOME. Plus, the soundtrack is amazing. I recently purchased it because it’s basically a ton of my favorite artists doing Bob Dylan covers. What more could a girl ask for? Basically, what I’m telling you people is: if you love Bob Dylan and you love covers by talented artists, then buy the soundtrack. I can’t vouch for the movie just yet, but I can say that the soundtrack is pretty sweet. The movie, hopefully, will be everything that I hope it will be and more. We can only wait and see…
