Well, since you asked…

Tara Chez Britton is a 23 year-old student/cynic/music critic currently residing in the clouds; she likes the view from there. She recently moved back to the US of A from Paris, France, where she lived for nearly two years, and she misses it terribly; however, her even more recent move to New York city is sustaining her. She grew up in the good ole state of Mississippi where she, surprisingly, owned more than one pair of shoes (contrary to popular belief) and enjoyed bathing in anything fried. She played basketball for sixteen years (approximately), including two years of college, before finally having to hang up her kicks in order to pursue other things, and she is constantly scared that it might have stunted her entry into the “real world.” She is comprised largely of cynicism, music, puppies, embarrassment, and espresso, and she is also indefinitely single.

She has been described in many ways over the years, but people usually say that she is witty, stubborn, emotional, intelligent, caring, perceptive, and driven. Her hobbies include listening to music, (attempted) web design, procrastinating (yes, that’s a hobby), writing (again, attempted), watching (good) movies, and avoiding people, in general. She was born under the sign Cancer, and although she doesn’t really believe in that shit, it usually describes her perfectly. She also tends to be a perfectionist and will slave away at something to get it just right, or else it will annoy her forever. She abhors politics, ignorance, people who beat around the bush, and personal questions. She has what some people have termed a “sick obsession” with Cat Power, and she enjoys painting her fingernails black. She will go to the end of the earth for people she cares about.

• Two iPods (80 gig and shuffle).
• Three friends (joke, she has five).
• One digital camera.
• Two copies of Rimbaud’s collected works.
• One 13″ iBook G4  15″ MacBook Pro.
• 52.97 GBs of MP3s (increasing by the day).
• One surprisingly comfy hardwood floor to sleep on real bed for a change.
• Two pairs of black converse (one high, one low).
• A degree in International Communications that she is still trying to figure out how to use miraculously uses every day.
• Eight Cat Power cds and one ginormous metro poster of her.
• Fourteen tank tops (roughly), an ever-increasing majority of which people are getting tired of seeing.
